9 huge EastEnders spoilers for next week (7 to 10 September)

1. Tommy’s Growing Fear Leaves Cat Concerned

Cat Slater becomes increasingly worried about Tommy Moon next week when she realizes just how badly he is struggling with his fear of Joel.

The Slater family already has plenty of problems to deal with, but Tommy’s behavior soon becomes impossible to ignore. Zoe notices that something is seriously troubling him and decides that Cat needs to understand what is really going on.

Zoe explains that Tommy has become increasingly anxious about the possibility of coming face-to-face with Joel. Hearing this, Cat immediately changes her priorities.

EastEnders' Tommy Moon finally returns home – and trouble follows

While much of Walford is focused on upcoming wedding celebrations, Cat decides that her family has to come first. Rather than throwing herself into the festivities, she chooses to stay at The Vic and spend some much-needed time with Zoe.

For a brief moment, it seems as though things might finally be improving.

But behind the scenes, Tommy is still struggling with emotions that he simply cannot handle.

2. Cat Tries to Bring the Family Together

Cat is also dealing with another family problem as she attempts to encourage Yolande to speak to Patrick about accepting Jasmine.

Cat knows that family relationships have become increasingly complicated, and she hopes that an honest conversation might help repair some of the damage.

However, while the adults are trying to resolve their disagreements, Tommy is silently battling his own problems.

Cat may believe she is doing everything possible to support her son, but she has no idea how desperate Tommy has become.

That becomes painfully clear when he makes a disturbing decision.

3. Tommy Secretly Takes Vodka

Tommy’s behavior takes a worrying turn when he secretly takes a bottle of vodka from the barrel store at The Vic.

Rather than telling anyone what he is feeling, Tommy disappears and drinks alone.

When Cat discovers what has happened, she is horrified.

She immediately begins searching for Tommy, desperate to find out where he has gone and, more importantly, why he felt driven to do something so dangerous.

For Cat, this is a major warning sign.

Tommy’s actions suggest that his fear of Joel is becoming much more serious than anyone realized. Cat needs to get through to her son before his anxiety pushes him into even more dangerous territory.

Unfortunately, the timing could not be worse for Zoe.

4. Zoe Finds Charlie’s Old Cab

While Cat is dealing with Tommy, Zoe receives some important news about the Slater family’s past.

She discovers that Charlie’s former cab has been put up for sale.

The vehicle has enormous sentimental value for the family, and Zoe becomes determined to bring it back into their lives.

At first, Cat plans to accompany Zoe when she goes to meet the seller.

But Tommy’s disappearance changes everything.

With her son now her immediate priority, Cat has no choice but to cancel her plans.

Zoe therefore travels to meet the seller alone.

Unfortunately, the meeting does not go according to plan.

An argument breaks out between Zoe and the seller, and tensions quickly escalate. Instead of simply walking away, Zoe makes a reckless decision that could have serious consequences.

She decides to take the cab herself.

What begins as an emotional attempt to reclaim an important part of the family’s history suddenly turns into a potentially serious problem.

5. Cat Finally Finds Tommy

After desperately searching for him, Cat eventually manages to find Tommy.

But the situation is far from resolved.

Rather than simply punishing him for taking the vodka, Cat tries to understand what is really happening inside her son’s head.

She knows that Tommy’s recent behavior cannot be dismissed as simple teenage rebellion. Something is clearly weighing heavily on him.

Cat has an emotional conversation with Tommy as she tries to uncover the truth behind his distress.

His fear of Joel appears to be at the center of everything, but Cat needs Tommy to open up before she can properly help him.

It is an emotional moment for mother and son, with Cat forced to confront just how much pressure Tommy has been carrying in silence.

However, just as Cat begins to process what has happened, another crisis comes crashing into her life.

She learns exactly what Zoe has done with Charlie’s old cab.

And the consequences arrive quickly.

6. Zoe Faces a Major Confrontation

Cat is shocked when she discovers Zoe has taken the cab.

Things become even more serious when the furious seller arrives to confront the Slater family.

With Zoe potentially facing police trouble, Cat and Alfie are forced to act quickly.

They desperately try to raise enough money to resolve the situation and prevent things from escalating further.

Eventually, they manage to gather the cash.

But solving the immediate problem does not repair the damage that has already been done.

Zoe later finds herself involved in a heated confrontation with both Cat and Zach. The argument leaves the already fragile family relationships under even greater strain.

Cat is now caught between trying to protect Tommy and dealing with Zoe’s increasingly reckless behavior.

There is simply no easy solution.

7. Cat Struggles to Hide Her Problems During the Wedding Celebrations

Despite everything happening behind the scenes, Cat has little choice but to put on a brave face when wedding guests gather at The Vic.

Kim and Howie’s wedding celebrations continue, filling the pub with excitement and happiness.

But Cat is struggling to keep her own emotions under control.

She is still deeply worried about Tommy. She has just been involved in another explosive confrontation with Zoe, and the entire family seems to be on the verge of breaking apart.

Alfie later encourages Cat to repair her relationship with Zoe following their latest argument.

Yet Cat has barely had time to process everything that has happened.

With Tommy continuing to struggle, Zoe making dangerous decisions and the family becoming increasingly divided, Cat may soon find it almost impossible to keep everyone together.

The biggest question is whether she can reach Tommy before his fear of Joel pushes him even further towards the edge.

8. Linda Carter Realizes She Still Loves Max

Elsewhere in Walford, Linda Carter is about to experience a major emotional turning point.

With Max Branning’s wedding to Cindy Beale approaching, Linda suddenly realizes that her feelings for Max have never completely disappeared.

Linda had been determined to move on.

She had even agreed to give newcomer Clive Masters a chance. But everything begins to change after she crosses paths with Kim Fox.

Kim is preparing to marry Howie on the same day as Cindy and Max, and during their conversation, Linda mentions that she is planning to go out with Clive.

Linda explains that Clive has been involved in efforts to protect the community centre.

However, Kim points out that Max deserves some of the credit too.

Curious, Linda asks what Max has done.

Kim explains that Max pressured people into signing a petition, helping to convince the council to save the community centre.

Linda struggles to hide her reaction.

Soon afterwards, Clive arrives and tells Linda that the campaign has succeeded.

Later, while they enjoy drinks together, Clive explains that the petition played an important role in securing the result.

But he quickly notices that Linda seems distracted.

Clive begins to wonder whether their relationship is moving too quickly. He reassures Linda that there is no need to rush and tells her that she is worth waiting for.

Instead of slowing things down, however, Linda makes a painful decision.

She ends their relationship.

Linda admits that she is not emotionally ready to continue seeing Clive and apologizes for putting him in such an uncomfortable position.

Clive is disappointed, but he suspects there may be another man involved.

Linda cannot give him a definite answer.

However, she acknowledges that the possibility of having feelings for someone else may be influencing her decision.

Clive accepts her honesty and wishes her well, hoping that the man occupying Linda’s thoughts is worth all the emotional complications.

But he has no idea just how complicated things are about to become.

9. Linda Finally Confesses Her Love for Max

Meanwhile, Max has problems of his own.

Ravi Gulati has taken Max captive and demanded answers about his secret relationship with Priya Nandra Hart, who is secretly carrying his child.

Priya eventually intervenes, allowing Max to escape.

But after the ordeal, Max is in no mood to attend his own stag celebrations.

His absence disappoints Oscar, who later finds his father looking battered and bruised at the café.

Max refuses to reveal what really happened.

Instead, he invents a story, claiming that he was attacked near the Tube station.

Linda becomes concerned when she sees Max in such a state and insists that he should not be left alone. She offers to make sure he gets home safely.

At the same time, Cindy leaves Max an affectionate voicemail, completely unaware that he is sitting with Linda.

As Linda and Max continue talking, they begin reflecting on their complicated history.

Max admits that their relationship always seemed to suffer because the timing was never right.

Linda initially struggles to explain what she is feeling.

But eventually, she can no longer keep her emotions hidden.

She reveals that having Max back in her life has been frightening, particularly because of what his presence could mean for her and their daughter Annie.

Yet Linda finally admits that Max himself is not what she fears most.

Her greatest fear is falling in love with him again.

When Max asks her to be completely honest, Linda finally says what she has been trying to suppress.

She still loves him.

The confession leaves Max visibly emotional.

Tears fill his eyes as he struggles to believe that Linda still has such powerful feelings for him.

But there is one enormous complication hanging over them.

Max is about to marry Cindy.

Cindy remains completely unaware of the secret emotions unfolding behind her back. At the same time, Priya’s pregnancy and Max’s secret could potentially explode at any moment.

So, will Linda’s confession change everything?

Could Max abandon his wedding plans?

Will Cindy discover the truth before she walks down the aisle?

And can Cat prevent Tommy’s fear of Joel from turning into an even bigger crisis?

With the Slater family already under enormous pressure and Max’s wedding surrounded by secrets, next week promises to deliver some of EastEnders’ most dramatic moments yet.

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One, with episodes also available on BBC iPlayer, where most instalments are released from 6am ahead of their television broadcast.
