Remi’s at a crossroads. Sonny feels cornered. Lacey runs a tight ship.

Remi Carter has reached a crossroads, and the choice staring him in the face could change everything for him and everyone he cares about in Summer Bay. After everything he has endured, Remi has become increasingly aware that something is terribly wrong with Sonny Baldwin. The once cheeky, impulsive friend who arrived in the Bay with a familiar smile is now becoming someone almost unrecognisable. Sonny’s recovery from the devastating crash may appear to be progressing physically, but emotionally and mentally, he is spiralling. His obsession with pushing himself harder has already raised eyebrows, and his increasingly aggressive behaviour has left Remi deeply unsettled. What makes the situation even more heartbreaking is that Sonny is not simply struggling with temptation—he is trapped in a dangerous web of lies, dependency and fear. Recent spoilers reveal that Remi is forced to make a difficult decision while Sonny feels cornered, setting the stage for a confrontation that could tear their friendship apart. Remi has always been the kind of person who wants to help the people around him, but this time friendship may not be enough. He has already paid an emotional price for refusing to look away, and the discovery of Sonny’s secret forces him to decide whether protecting his best friend means standing beside him or finally telling someone the truth. For Remi, there is no easy answer. If he stays silent, Sonny’s situation could become even more dangerous. If he speaks up, he risks destroying the trust between them forever. And somewhere between those two choices is a painful question Remi cannot escape: how far should you go to save someone who refuses to save themselves?
Sonny, meanwhile, is discovering that every lie creates another trap. His desperation began with something painfully understandable—the desire to regain control of his body and his life after the crash that left him fearing he might never walk again. But the solution he found has rapidly become another prison. After Beau introduced him to steroids, Sonny initially resisted, yet desperation eventually won out. What began as an attempt to accelerate his physical recovery soon turned into dependency, with Sonny spending his money on pills and becoming increasingly desperate for more. His lies multiplied as he tried to conceal the truth from Dana, Remi and the people around him. Even worse, Beau now has leverage over him. Sonny wants Beau out of his life, particularly as Beau grows closer to Harper, but Beau controls access to the very substances Sonny has come to rely upon. When Sonny cannot afford another supply, Beau even offers to cover the cost, leaving Sonny deeper in debt and raising a terrifying question about what Beau might eventually demand in return. Sonny’s sense of being trapped explains some of the anger that has erupted around him, but it does not erase the damage he is causing. His friendship with Remi has already suffered a devastating blow after Sonny punched him, leaving Remi with a split lip. Instead of becoming a wake-up call, however, the incident appears to push Sonny further into denial. When Remi confronts him about the possibility that he is using drugs, Sonny refuses to admit anything and challenges his friend to prove it. But Remi eventually finds the hidden pills, turning suspicion into undeniable evidence. In that moment, Sonny can no longer pretend that the people closest to him are imagining the problem. His secret has been exposed, and his carefully constructed walls are beginning to collapse.5 - Home and Away - Season 25 - Episode 8750 / Thursday 30 July
And then there is Lacey, whose presence adds another unpredictable layer to the turmoil engulfing Summer Bay. The official episode tease says that while Remi is at a crossroads and Sonny feels cornered, Lacey “runs a tight ship,” a phrase that immediately suggests someone determined to maintain control while chaos unfolds around her. Lacey is hardly a character who can be dismissed as background noise. Introduced as a wild child with connections to the notorious River Boys, she was always expected to bring an edge to Summer Bay. Actor Sophea Pennington previously described Lacey as someone who may be a bad girl but has a good heart, making her the kind of complicated character who can move between danger and vulnerability without warning. Her arrival creates another force of tension in a community already struggling with secrets and divided loyalties. While Sonny’s world becomes increasingly chaotic, Lacey appears determined to keep her own world under control. But the more tightly someone tries to control their surroundings, the more explosive the consequences can become when that control finally slips. Could Lacey become an unexpected obstacle for Remi? Could her connections put her dangerously close to Sonny’s problems? Or might she prove to be one of the few people capable of recognising that something is seriously wrong beneath the surface? Summer Bay has a long history of bringing troubled people together at exactly the wrong moment, and Lacey’s storyline appears perfectly positioned to collide with the emotional storm surrounding Remi and Sonny.Home and Away's Sonny tormented by new villain in 25 spoiler pictures
For Remi, the hardest part may be accepting that he cannot rescue Sonny by himself. After finding the pills, he begins researching ways to help people who are misusing steroids, desperately searching for an answer that might bring his friend back from the edge. But Sonny is not simply dealing with a bad habit. His behaviour has become increasingly unpredictable, his finances are suffering, his relationships are under pressure and his connection to Beau is becoming more dangerous. Remi eventually realises that keeping Sonny’s secret could actually make him part of the problem. That is why Dana becomes so important. When she notices Remi’s split lip, questions naturally follow, and Remi is forced to decide whether to reveal what he knows. Telling Dana means breaking Sonny’s confidence, but remaining silent means allowing her to continue believing everything is normal. Spoilers indicate that Remi ultimately tells Dana that Sonny has been using steroids, leaving her struggling to accept what she has heard. The emotional impact could be enormous because Dana is not an outsider looking in—she is someone whose relationship with Sonny makes the truth deeply personal. When she confronts him, Sonny may have nowhere left to hide. He could deny everything again, lash out, or finally admit that he has lost control. Each possibility carries its own consequences. Meanwhile, Beau continues moving through Summer Bay with a seemingly innocent smile while his involvement with Sonny becomes increasingly troubling. His romance with Harper may look happy on the surface, but his secret dealings threaten to contaminate everything around him. The closer Harper gets to Beau, the more dangerous Sonny’s desperation becomes.12 huge Home and Away spoilers for next week (8 to 12 June)
Ultimately, the real tragedy of this storyline is that nobody appears to be walking away untouched. Remi is being forced to choose between loyalty and intervention. Sonny is fighting an increasingly desperate battle against his own dependency while trying to preserve the friendships and relationships that matter most to him. Dana is being pulled toward a truth she may desperately wish were not real. Beau appears to be gaining control over Sonny, while Lacey is navigating her own turbulent path in a Summer Bay where secrets rarely remain hidden for long. The official episode descriptions promise that Remi will not give up on Sonny, suggesting that despite everything that has happened, their friendship is not yet beyond repair. But refusing to give up does not mean refusing to draw a line. Remi may soon discover that sometimes the most loving thing a friend can do is stop protecting someone from the consequences of their choices. For Sonny, the coming confrontation could become the moment that finally forces him to face what his desperation has cost him. For Lacey, the challenge may be maintaining control while the world around her becomes increasingly unstable. And for Summer Bay, this could be only the beginning. Because once the lies are exposed, there is no guarantee that the truth will bring peace. It may instead unleash anger, betrayal, heartbreak and consequences none of them can control. Remi has reached his crossroads. Sonny feels trapped. Lacey is holding the line. Now the question is whether any of them can prevent the next explosion before it is too late.
