cobbles comeback Coronation Street fan-favourite making return 14 months after mysteriously disappearing – it’s BAD news for cobbles

Coronation Street fans are certain they know who Dr Gaddas’ new love interest is.

As the friendly face of Rosamund Street Medical Centre, the iconic Dr Susan Gaddas (Christine Mackie) has been a regular on screens since 2014. And over the years, she has welcomed several residents to take a seat in her surgery – before diagnosing and treating them. Coronation Street fan-favourite making return 14 months after mysteriously disappearing - it's BAD news for cobbles

Just this week, she stepped in to help Abi Webster (Sally Carman). As fans will recall, she has been struggling since the death of Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan) – hallucinating both him and her dead son Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni).

However, while Dr Gaddas has become a firm favourite over the years, little is known about her personal life, and what brought her to Weatherfield.

But now, fans are convinced she could be set to strike up a shock new romance on the cobbles – and it’s with a cobbles legend.

Reacting to Dr Gaddas’ appearance on the soap this week, one person wrote on a Corrie Facebook fan page: “Thoughts on Dr Gaddas?” A second person declared: “I want a storyline about her. I need to know her back story…”

And it didn’t take other fans long to put forward their theory that Dr Gaddas could end up in a romance with Ken Barlow (William Roache) or Yasmeen

Someone else chimed in: “I’d like her with Ken!” A fourth also wrote: “I’ve always said that.”However, other fans pointed out that it’s been referenced on the soap before that Dr Gaddas has a wife.

They said: “She has a wife but she could be bisexual. She could be poly.” Another person then replied: “Maybe she starts a romance with Yasmeen then – and that’s Yasmeen’s exit storyline.”

Recently, Dr Gaddas actor Christine Mackie spoke out about the character’s cult following with viewers. Appearing on the ‘Conversation Street’ podcast, she said: “I do know from my experience over the 10 years that people love Gaddas.

“And I’m deeply grateful that they do. People are so nice about her. People always want to talk about her and how she is,” she added.

Christine went on: “I think it’s because she’s like the doctor you can’t quite have anymore because the relationship is so changed for us, there’s this little bit of nostalgia.

“At the same time she’s very much in the moment and very present when she’s doing everything, so she’s absolutely involved and has affection for the characters.”
