Trouble is about to explode inside the Platt family in Coronation Street, and this time, Bethany Platt is pushed far beyond her limit. Jodie Ramsay has already caused plenty of tension since returning to Weatherfield, but her latest move could be the one that finally turns the entire family against her.
After deliberately setting her sights on Kit Green, Jodie appears determined to provoke Sarah Platt’s loved ones — and Bethany may be the person who finally refuses to let her get away with it.
Next week, the atmosphere becomes increasingly uncomfortable when Jodie returns home following her court appearance. After previously assaulting Sarah Platt, Jodie has been waiting to discover what punishment she will receive. Instead of being sent to prison, she learns that she has been given a community sentence, which includes litter-picking duties.
For Jodie, however, avoiding prison seems to do little to change her behavior.
Rather than keeping her head down and trying to repair some of the damage she has caused, she quickly begins creating another wave of problems. With David away, Shona is already struggling to keep everything under control while looking after Harper and Lily. The situation is exhausting enough without Jodie constantly interfering, making comments and adding tension to an already stressful household.
But Jodie soon finds another target.
When she overhears Bethany talking about an upcoming date, she cannot resist making a nasty remark. Instead of allowing Bethany to enjoy the excitement, Jodie attempts to ruin the moment with one of her cutting comments.
This time, though, Bethany refuses to back down.
Bethany confronts Jodie and makes it clear that she will not simply stand there while Jodie tries to humiliate her. The exchange leaves Jodie embarrassed, and although she eventually backs away from the confrontation, it becomes obvious that she has no intention of letting Bethany have the final word.
Instead, Jodie decides to retaliate.
And her revenge is going to hit a very sensitive nerve.
Jodie turns her attention toward Kit Green.
Knowing that Kit has only recently ended his relationship with Sarah, Jodie asks him out. Her decision is especially provocative because Sarah is currently in prison and has already endured the consequences of the violent confrontation involving Jodie.
Jodie knows exactly what she is doing.
She promises Kit an exciting evening, apparently confident that she can charm him despite everything that has happened. But pursuing Sarah’s former partner is almost guaranteed to create another family explosion.
Bethany is about to discover just how far Jodie is willing to go.
Meanwhile, Bethany heads to the Bistro for her second date with Roman. She is hoping for a quiet evening, away from the endless drama that seems to follow her everywhere. For a brief moment, everything appears to be going well.
Then Jodie walks through the door.

Bethany is immediately horrified.
The timing could hardly be worse. Sarah is still in prison, and her relationship with Kit has only recently ended. Seeing Jodie sitting there with Kit and openly flirting with him is more than Bethany can tolerate.

She tells him that becoming involved with her could be a terrible mistake, especially considering everything that has happened. But although Bethany believes she is protecting Sarah and stopping Jodie from causing even more damage, her confrontation has an unfortunate consequence.
Her own date is completely ruined.
The romantic evening she had hoped for has descended into another family-related nightmare, leaving Bethany frustrated and angry. Eventually, she has little choice but to leave.
But Jodie has achieved exactly what she wanted.
And she isn’t finished.
Later, Jodie invites Kit back for a drink, continuing to push the boundaries. Her confidence suggests that the warnings from Bethany have done nothing to discourage her.
Shona is equally appalled when she discovers what has happened.
As Sarah’s sister, Shona is furious that Jodie would pursue Kit under these circumstances. She accuses Jodie of betraying Sarah and makes her disgust perfectly clear. Yet once again, Jodie refuses to show much remorse.
Instead, her behavior becomes even more troubling.
While Shona struggles to cope with the children by herself, Jodie secretly hides her car keys. It is a cruel move that makes an already exhausted situation even harder for Shona.
Eventually, the pressure becomes overwhelming.
In the confusion, Shona accidentally leaves baby Harper inside the car. Fortunately, Daniel discovers Harper before anything worse happens and makes sure that the baby is safe.
The frightening incident leaves Shona shaken and exhausted.
Jodie appears to suddenly become helpful, encouraging Shona to get some much-needed rest and offering to take care of Harper. On the surface, it looks like Jodie may finally be showing some concern.
But there is another motive behind her kindness.
The moment Shona goes upstairs, Jodie sees an opportunity.
She invites Kit over.
Later, when Shona comes back downstairs, she is absolutely furious to discover Jodie and Kit together, casually sharing a glass of wine.
It is the final insult.
Like Bethany, Shona immediately warns Kit about Jodie. She makes it clear that becoming romantically involved with Jodie could be one of the biggest mistakes he has ever made.
Now Kit finds himself surrounded by warnings.

Todd Grimshaw delivers devastating news to Gemma Winter-Brown, telling her that her great-aunt Celeste is dying. Gemma is immediately determined to put old family arguments aside. She desperately wants Bernie Winter-Alahan and Kit Green to reconcile with Celeste before it is too late.
