Because while Oscar and Denzel are preparing to “kidnap” Max as part of the celebrations, another man is already watching from the shadows. Ravi Gulati has discovered the secret Max has been desperately trying to keep hidden. He now knows that Max was the man involved with Priya. More importantly, Ravi has discovered that Priya is pregnant — and Max is the father.
So when Max is suddenly grabbed by a masked man, he initially believes this is simply part of Oscar’s prank. He expects the hood to come off, everyone to laugh, and the embarrassment to be over.

Instead, the hood is removed.
And Max finds himself staring directly at Ravi.
Ravi is holding a baseball bat.
Suddenly, this isn’t a joke anymore.
It all begins with Oscar getting ready for his stag do. He makes it clear that he doesn’t want the kind of wild experience that could leave him waking up somewhere ridiculous, tied to a lamppost or facing some humiliating surprise. Oscar wants something simple. A few drinks, some laughs and a night that doesn’t get completely out of control.
But this is Walford.
And whenever someone thinks their night is going to be simple, disaster is usually waiting around the corner.
Oscar eventually teams up with Denzel for a joint stag-do celebration, and the two come up with what they believe is a hilarious idea. They decide that Max Branning should be kidnapped as part of the festivities.
At first, it sounds completely harmless.
Max will be taken somewhere, everyone will laugh, and eventually he’ll be released.
Except there is another person with a very different reason for wanting Max out of sight.
Ravi has been growing increasingly suspicious of Priya, and Max has become a major part of those suspicions. Something about Priya’s history doesn’t sit right with him. He has seen her with Max, knows the two have connections through their everyday lives and has started to realize that there may be far more between them than either of them wants him to believe.
Ravi isn’t willing to simply accept Priya’s explanations.
He wants proof.
So he makes a calculated visit to Max’s house.
Ravi arrives carrying a bottle, acting as though he has come on friendly terms. He gives Max the impression that he’s simply there to thank him for helping Priya during a difficult period. There is nothing immediately threatening about the encounter.
But Ravi isn’t really there to socialize.
He’s searching.
When Ravi asks if he can use the bathroom, Max has no reason to suspect anything. But Ravi uses the opportunity to look around the house, hoping to find something — anything — that could establish a connection between Max and Priya.
Then he sees it.
A painting.
It looks innocent enough, but Ravi recognizes it from a photograph of Priya. The same painting had appeared in the background, creating a connection that Ravi can no longer ignore.
Suddenly, the pieces fall into place.
The mysterious man from Priya’s past isn’t some unknown stranger.
It’s Max Branning.
Ravi has finally uncovered the truth he was looking for.
But instead of confronting Max immediately, Ravi keeps his composure. Max even casually invites him to join the drinks later, completely unaware that Ravi has already figured everything out.
Ravi agrees.
But he isn’t agreeing as a friend.
He’s going there knowing exactly what Max has been hiding.
Before the stag celebrations can properly get underway, Ravi confronts Priya.
And this conversation changes everything.
Ravi asks her directly whether Max was the man she had an affair with.
Priya initially tries to avoid giving him a straight answer. She knows exactly what Ravi is asking, and she understands the consequences of admitting the truth.
Eventually, however, she confesses.
Priya explains that the relationship with Max was a mistake. It happened during an extremely difficult period in her life, when she was struggling emotionally and felt as though she had lost control over everything around her.
According to Priya, Max made her feel as though she had some control again.
But she insists that it was only a fling.
Something from the past.
Something that should have been left behind.
Ravi doesn’t believe her.
Not for a second.

He knows Max has continued to appear in Priya’s life. He has seen Max walking her home. He knows they still have reasons to be around each other. And now that Ravi has discovered their history, every interaction between them suddenly looks suspicious.
So Ravi asks the question that really matters.
Is it still happening?
Priya says no.
But Ravi immediately accuses her of lying.
The trust between them is already cracking, and this revelation threatens to destroy whatever remains of it.
Ravi warns Priya that he will discover the complete truth, whether she tells him willingly or not.
And judging by what happens next, he means every word.
Meanwhile, Max has no idea that his secret has been exposed.
He’s focused on his stag celebrations. He’s expecting drinks, jokes and perhaps a little trouble. As far as Max is concerned, his biggest concern is surviving whatever Oscar and Denzel have planned.
He doesn’t realize that Ravi knows.
He doesn’t know that Ravi has connected him to Priya.
And he certainly doesn’t know that the pregnancy has made the situation even more explosive.
Priya isn’t simply hiding an old affair.
She’s carrying Max’s baby.
That secret could completely transform the situation.
Then Max disappears.
A masked man grabs him, and for a moment, Max doesn’t seem particularly frightened. Given the circumstances, he assumes Oscar has gone ahead with the kidnapping prank.
Perhaps Max expects to be taken somewhere embarrassing.
Perhaps he’s already imagining the laughter when the hood is removed.
But then the situation starts to feel wrong.
Oscar hasn’t actually kidnapped him.
Denzel hasn’t done it either.
So who has Max?
Back at the bar, Jack eventually arrives, while Oscar begins to realize that something is seriously wrong. If Max wasn’t taken by Oscar, then the entire situation has suddenly become much more dangerous.
Max is still being held somewhere.
And the person holding him isn’t playing a game.
Then comes the moment that turns this storyline upside down.
The hood is pulled away.
Max looks up.
And standing in front of him is Ravi Gulati.
Not Oscar.
Not Denzel.
Ravi.
And in his hand is a baseball bat.
The realization must hit Max immediately.
Ravi knows.
He knows about Priya.
He knows about the affair.
And he knows that the baby Priya is carrying is Max’s.
Max is now completely at Ravi’s mercy.
This is no longer about a stag-do prank. There is nothing funny about the situation. Ravi’s anger is deeply personal, and Max is the person standing directly in the center of his betrayal.
Ravi looks at Max and begins to reveal what he intends to do.
But before viewers get the answer, the episode cuts away.
And that cliffhanger leaves one enormous question hanging over Walford.
How far will Ravi actually go?
Will he hurt Max?
Or is this all an attempt to frighten him into finally telling the truth?
The danger surrounding Max is obvious, but the emotional consequences could be just as devastating.
Ravi believes Priya betrayed him. He has already been struggling with doubts about whether he can trust her. Now he knows that the man involved wasn’t some distant figure from her past.
It was Max — someone who remains connected to Priya’s life.
And there is an even bigger complication.
The baby.
Priya is pregnant with Max’s child, meaning that even if Ravi wanted to erase Max from their lives, that would never be completely possible. The baby would permanently connect Priya and Max.
That could be the revelation that causes everything to explode.
For now, the pregnancy remains a secret from much of Walford. But secrets rarely stay buried forever in Albert Square.
What happens when everyone discovers who the father really is?
How will Max react when the truth becomes public?
What will Priya say when she’s forced to explain why she kept the pregnancy hidden?
And perhaps most importantly, what will Ravi do when he realizes that Priya and Max will remain connected because of their child?
The consequences could be enormous.
Oscar’s innocent prank has been completely overshadowed by something far more serious. What was supposed to be a night of celebration has become a nightmare for Max, while Ravi has finally obtained the answers he wanted.
But knowing the truth hasn’t calmed Ravi down.
It appears to have made him even more dangerous.
Max is trapped.
Ravi is angry.
Priya’s secret has been exposed between the three of them.
And somewhere in the middle of it all is a baby who could permanently change the future of everyone involved.
The biggest mystery now is what happens next.
Could Max somehow convince Ravi to put the baseball bat down?
Could he explain his relationship with Priya in a way that changes Ravi’s mind?
Will someone arrive before the situation becomes even more dangerous?
Or has Ravi already crossed a line that he won’t be able to uncross?
Whatever happens, Max’s stag do has turned into anything but the celebration he expected.
And the real shock may still be waiting.
Because once the truth about Priya’s pregnancy finally reaches the rest of Walford, the consequences could be even more explosive than Ravi’s confrontation with Max.
One secret has already destroyed Ravi’s trust.
One pregnancy could change several lives.
And one furious man is currently standing over Max with a baseball bat.
So, will Ravi actually hurt Max, or will someone arrive just in time to stop him?
And when Priya’s baby secret finally comes out, will Max be exposed as the father in front of the entire Square?
This story is far from over, and the relationship between Max, Priya and Ravi could be heading toward an explosive breaking point.
