Beth and Rip are already back on screen with Dutton Ranch's new release.
Originally developed by Chad Feehan, the Paramount+ series serves as a sequel to Taylor Sheridan's mainline Yellowstone series, following Kelly Reilly's Beth and Cole Hauser's Rip to Texas as they attempt to launch a new cattle enterprise after their Montana ranch burns down, only to come into conflict with a powerful local threat. Scoring rave reviews from critics and audiences alike, Dutton Ranch season 2 was eventually confirmed in June 2026.
Just over a month after its debut season came to an end, Paramount has announced that Dutton Ranch season 1 is officially available on digital platforms. The new release of the latest installment in Taylor Sheridan's hit Yellowstone universe comes with a special look behind the scenes, entitled "A New Beginning: Inside Dutton Ranch," which features interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and "striking photography" from both the Montana and Texas sets of the hit series.
Dutton Ranch officially getting a digital release follows generally in line with Paramount+'s trend of when it brings its series, particularly Sheridan-based ones, to platforms beyond the streamer. This year similarly saw Landman season 2 make its digital premiere a little over three months after its finale, as did The Madison when it dropped on VOD platforms on July 1, just under three months after its debut season finale.
Moreover, the show's digital release comes following Dutton Ranch's pivotal season 2 renewal, which came just days ahead of season 1's penultimate episode. A few days later, it was announced that SEAL Team vet Benjamin Cavell would be coming onboard as showrunner for the neo-Western series, replacing Feehan following his firing from the show, which had seemingly been the biggest hurdle for the spinoff's renewal.
The new digital release also comes at the perfect time for the Yellowstone franchise, as it's currently gearing up to return to the screen with Marshals season 2 on CBS on October 4 as part of the network's Fall 2026 schedule. The Kayce-focused spinoff is also getting a physical release just next week on August 25, giving fans of the franchise multiple options for how to catch up with Sheridan's growing universe.
What will now be interesting to see is whether Dutton Ranch will also get a physical release, and when such release may happen. Looking at prior patterns, there is anywhere from a 3–5-month wait from a Paramount+ show's digital premiere to its physical release, which could put the latest Yellowstone spinoff on shelves sometime between November and January. This would give the show a good resurgence in popularity down the line to help build back up anticipation for the show's season 2 return sometime in 2027.
