Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) has been a regular face on the cobbles of Coronation Street since 2019, but she is set to bid Weatherfield farewell in upcoming scenes.
During her tenure, she has been at the centre of some major storylines, including her much-loved relationship with Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey).

However, it was the storyline that saw her and boyfriend Seb Franklin targeted in a hate crime that was perhaps her most powerful story on the ITV soap.
In 2021, Nina and Seb were attacked by a group of their peers, including Corey Brent and Kelly Neelan, because of their alternative appearance.
Coronation Street worked with the Sophie Lancaster Foundation on the powerful story, which was inspired by the real-life murder of 20-year-old goth Sophie Lancaster.
While Nina survived the horrific attack, Seb tragically died of his injuries.

Now that Nina is bidding the cobbles farewell, it is only right that one of her last scenes sees her spending some time alone in Seb’s memorial garden, listening to the song that was playing when he gifted her a ring.
In the spoiler clip, Nina is approached by Seb’s mum, Abi Webster (Sally Carman), who apologises for not being able to make Nina’s send-off in the Rovers.
In the emotional scene, Nina apologises to Abi for surviving the attack instead of Seb – a sentiment that Abi is quick to shut down.
As they comfort each other, Nina promises never to forget Seb, and when Abi leaves, she says a tearful goodbye.

Nina is set to leave Coronation Street for a new job at an art gallery in Whitby.
‘It feels true to her character. It is a really positive move for Nina; there is no tragedy and she was able to go off happily to this new life,’ actress Mollie Gallagher said.
‘She is sad to leave Roy and her friends but she knows it is the right thing to do.
