Things take a raunchy turn for Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein in Netflix’s Office Romance trailer.
In 2024, it was announced that Lopez had joined Goldstein to lead the cast of the romantic comedy after a competitive bidding war, which Netflix won. She plays powerful CEO Jackie Cruz, while Goldstein plays her airline’s newest lawyer, Daniel Blanchflower. Even though work usually comes first for them, they find their priorities changing as their secret workplace romance unfolds.
Now, Netflix has released the first trailer for Office Romance, which provides the best look at the relationship between Jackie and Daniel in the raunchy romantic comedy. The movie will be released on the streaming platform on June 5. Check out the trailer below:
Ahead of the trailer’s debut, as part of the movie’s promotion, Lopez updated her LinkedIn Profile to align with her character and career. Her background photo is an image of an airplane with the Air Cruz logo on the side and her job title is listed as “CEO & Pilot, Air Cruz.” The job history section has references to many prior Jennifer Lopez romantic-comedy movies, including The Wedding Planner, Maid in Manhattan, Monster-in-Law, The Back-up Plan, What to Expect When You’re Expecting, Second Act, Marry Me,and Shotgun Wedding.
Office Romance is directed by Ol Parker, whose prior directing credits include Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again and Ticket to Paradise. It is co-written by Goldstein and Joe Kelly, who previously co-wrote the Ted Lasso episode “Beard After Hours.” Lopez, Goldstein, and Kelly are producers on the film as well.
Other key cast members joining Lopez and Goldstein in Office Romance are Betty Gilpin (Death by Lightning), Amy Sedaris (The Mandalorian), Tony Hale (Toy Story 4), Bradley Whitford (The Handmaid’s Tale), and Edward James Olmos (Blade Runner). Olmos plays Jack Cruz, the father of Lopez’s character, and this reunites the two actors after they played father and daughter in the 1997 movie Selena.
While Lopez is a veteran when it comes to romantic comedies, she has done a wider range of genres in more recent years. For Netflix, she starred in the science-fiction film Atlas and the action thriller Mother, the latter of which was one of the streamer’s top 10 most watched original movies of all time in 2023. More recently, she was in the remake of the musical drama Kiss of the Spider Woman and the sports drama Unstoppable.
Goldstein is best known for his role as Roy Kent, which he is reprising in Ted Lasso season 4. As with Office Romance, Goldstein is an actor, writer, and producer for the sports comedy series, and he has also performed all three of these duties for Apple TV’s Shrinking, which he co-created with Bill Lawrence and Jason Segel.
When it came to Office Romance, Goldstein previously told People that he and Kelly wrote the film with Lopez in mind during a long train ride. Their creative vision is now a reality and is poised to be one of the major releases during Netflix’s upcoming summer slate.
Office Romance releases on Netflix on June 5.
